I learned that God works in amazing ways if you open your heart to Him. I learned that everyone has a story. God works in your life where you are at. You don't have to have lots of struggles in your life to have a good testimony. God works in each of our lives in different ways. I was so blessed by the camper's testimonies. It was such an encouragement to me and I am so thankful to have been part of it.

CIT Post: Why I became a CIT - Claire
A note from camper/CIT Claire about why she chose to become a CIT (counselor in training).
I became a CIT because I have been coming to YCL for most of my life and I have always wanted to help the campers have the best time possible. YCL has always been a safe place and a second home for me. I wanted to make a difference in the camper's lives like my counselors made a difference in mine.
***
CITs are students between 13 and 18 years old who are selected to participate in camps as "counselors in training". They attend a training camp and are expected to help in the dorms during normal camp life. CITs must be 15 or older to work at Jr. High camp. If your student is interested in becoming a CIT, contact the camp office about opportunities in 2014!

Camper Post: Camp Memories
A reflection by Camper/CIT Anna after Senior High Camp 2013.
There are too many great camp memories to choose from. I have great memories with friends. We bonded over s'mores and campfire songs. Praising God is always more fun with friends. I love the cook, Angie! She is the bomb! Superman prayer all the way. Basically, go to camp and you will have the best week of your life!

Staff Post: My First Camp at YCL
Jon is a first time counselor at YCL. Although he has attended church camp as a youth, he has never been to camp at Yellow Creek Lake! Senior High camp was his first experience as a camp counselor.
My first camp at YCL was phenomenal. The campers all connected extremely well and the focus of the week was on testimonies. I, myself, have a hard testimony and being able to share it with others is freeing. KC and Diana are so in tune with the Holy Spirit and they are full of wisdom, much of which I will remember forever.
My first camp at YCL has drawn me closer to God and strengthened my faith as a Christian. Only one week in and YCL has made a major impact in my life. God is using this camp for great things and I am extremely blessed to be part of it.

Camper Post: Great News
This is from a camper at Sr. High camp in response to the question "what is a favorite story, song, activity, or something that makes camp special to you".
After this Thursday night's service, I accepted God into my heart for the first time.
